What to do before your dental visit
Toothache or broken tooth
Avoid chewing on the affected side and call for advice. For a toothache, gently rinse with warm water; do not place aspirin on the tooth or gums. Tell us about swelling or fever.
Knocked-out adult tooth
Seek dental care immediately. Handle the tooth by the crown, not the root, and keep it moist in milk if you cannot safely replace it. Do not reinsert a baby tooth.

Emergency dental visit costs
An emergency exam identifies the problem; treatment costs depend on the findings. Ask what the exam and imaging include and whether additional care can be completed at that visit.
Let’s review your estimate.
We’ll explain the recommended next step after examining the tooth. Call first for urgent concerns; an online appointment request is not an emergency response.
Tooth Pain & Emergency Care FAQs
What should I tell the team when I call?
Describe the symptoms, when they started and any swelling, fever or injury. Mention a lost crown or filling and medicines you have taken.
Does tooth pain mean an extraction?
Not always. Treatment depends on the cause and whether the tooth can be restored.
When should I seek emergency medical care?
Trouble breathing or swallowing, or rapidly spreading swelling, needs emergency medical care. Call 911 for a life-threatening emergency.
Do you offer same-day emergency appointments?
Call for today’s availability. We can tell you the earliest opening and whether your symptoms require more urgent care.
What if a crown or filling falls out?
Keep the restoration if you have it, avoid chewing on that tooth and call. Do not use household glue to put it back.
Will antibiotics fix a tooth infection?
Antibiotics alone may not treat the underlying dental problem. An exam helps determine whether drainage, root canal treatment or another procedure is needed.
